Simplicity is often thought to be the key in gaming. And what would be more simple and relaxing than enjoying the simple bob of the ocean, with something as innocuous as a rubber ducky?

Well, if that same ocean is covered in collectable coins and strewn with dangerous mines, that might put a damper on things. It might also confuse a little if the Duckys were able to unlock and wear comedy movie-themed costumes…

OCP Directive 5 – Avoid Mines

Ducky Fuzz is the latest game from the one-man extraordinaire development team Smiling Bag,  who you may remember from the retro themed tilt and frustrate game  I Am Level.  This time, instead of harking back to the bygone days of the ZX81, this time the aesthetic lends itself toward more the days of the Amiga 500 and Atari ST.

What started life as a game based around whistling to make the ducks jump has moved back to a more traditional control albeit with a heavy focus on unlocking new powers and costumes.

The game will be out on Android by the end of the year, and on iOS early in 2014.  We’ll keep you posted and in the mean time leave you with the trailer.
